The Blue Eyed Boy

You already know all about the fashion day. But you know nothing about the fashion night. It’s not that I can’t let you in on the insider information, it’s just that I don’t aspire for this blog to be a tabloid. Though I must admit that I did find myself documenting this event with spy-like secrecy. Even though I live in France and we don’t believe in censorship, I have to make sure I don’t show too much for my virginal viewers – the decor is the only thing you’ll see. Don’t be deterred by the pink lighting, I guarantee you that it was from Fashion Week… Men’s Fashion Week.
 
Vous savez déjà tout de leurs journées ou presque. Vous ne verrez rien de leurs nuits. Non que je ne puisse vous répondre ; seulement le blog est-il dépourvu de toute ambition tabloïde. Je me suis toutefois pris au jeu de photographier dans la plus grande clandestinité ce qui demeurait montrable. A savoir, les quelques éléments de décoration dont nul n’avait que faire sur le moment. Si roses que les éclairages puissent souvent paraître, je vous assure qu’il s’agissait bien la semaine de la mode… masculine.

Once settled in the City of Light for the menswear fashion week, the concept store from the town of diamonds was exactly that: brighting selection for a very inspired exhibition, exciting party enlighted by a performance from Nicola Testa, Tony Hornecker and Romain Brau, who were rocking glitter make-up for the occasion. Though you normally associate RA with the Egyptian God of the Sun, RA is, in fact the founders’ initials: R for Romain, A for Anna. The talent and radiance they both have eclipsed the coldness of the night in Paris and are surely the magic ingredients that make the Belgian store so successful. A store that I absolutely need to check out sometime soon in Antwerp!

Lorsqu’il reçoit dans la Ville-lumière à l’occasion de la semaine de la mode masculine, le concept store de la cité des diamantaires sait y faire : selection brillante pour une exposition inspirée, soirée éclairée des performances de Nicola Testa, Tony Hornecker et Romain Brau, d’or pailletés pour l’occasion.
Vous pensiez au dieu du soleil égyptien, mais c’est bien de l’association des initiales de ses fondateurs, Anna et Romain, que RA est né ; à leur talent et la chaleur de leur accueil ce soir là à Paris que la boutique doit aussi certainement son succès. Ce que je me suis promis de vérifier très vite à Anvers, lors de ma prochaine eclipse !
