Die this way
You might cry blasphemy after reading the title on the anniversary of the holy nativity. But I intend no disrespect. In fact, the title is merely an exclamation over having not written a music post in such a long time. Though music isn’t the primary object of the blog, I take pleasure in sharing my most recent musical discovery, despite of my previous post on the subject – Baptiste Giabiconi’s attempt to play music. But this time, I promise the post is worth your time.
Disdainful pouting and haughtiness was more thane enough for Lana Del Rey to seduce me. If you doubt, her atypical voice, the calibrated direction of Yoann Lemoine and the luxurious set of her « Born to Die » video cannot be ignored. In fact, the castle sheltering the city of my birth, Fontainebleu, is where she recreates the chilling era of royal pretention, sexily, of course, charming with her lips.
Her eponymic album, not in need of advertisement, is to be released on 30 January – with the American singer’s success already promised by her omnipresent fellow countrymen. I wish her all the best (and evil).

On hurlerait au blasphème à la seule lecture du titre en ce jour de célébration de la nativité. Loin de moi cette idée. Voilà simplement fort longtemps que je ne vous avais pas parlé musique. Ce n’est certes pas l’objet premier du blog. Seulement le plaisir de vous faire partager ma récente découverte était-il trop grand pour rester sur la faim de mon précédent billet musical – ou la tentative de Baptiste Giabiconi d’adjoindre le 6ème art à son arc.
Cette fois-ci, c’est (de) la bonne. Moue dédaigneuse et port altier, il n’en fallait guère plus pour me séduire à Lana Del Rey. Si ce n’est sans doute sa voix atypique, la mise en scène calibrée signée Yoann Lemoine et le décor somptueux du clip de « Born to Die », son premier titre. A savoir, le château qu’abrite la ville qui m’a vu naître, Fontainebleau, où ère transie et trône revêche la pin-up aux lèvres délicieusement refaites.
L’album éponyme est à peine annoncé pour le 30 janvier prochain que d’aucuns promettent déjà à la chanteuse américaine un succès digne de son omniprésente compatriote. C’est là bien tout le mal que je lui souhaite.
