The Blue Eyed Boy

Obtained from a secondhand trade off the coast of my vacation spot in the Basque Country, this vintage Christian Dior vanity case, with its old-fashioned charm, could be the perfect toiletry casket for an eclectic gentleman. Its previous owner, obviously crass in his taste, did not appreciate the blue monogrammed canvas dressing or its beautiful blue leather lining. Assured of its authenticity by my friend Josephine de Parisot, creator of La Mode Timbree, I was able to negotiate it without much effort for a grand total of €25. I have no doubt that I’ll find a suitable throne for it in my new bathroom, more as a decoration than as a trunk for my potions. J’adore.

 
Chiné dans une brocante de la Côte basque où je poursuis mes vacances, ce vanity case Christian Dior au charme désuet pourrait être un écrin parfait pour les accessoires de toilette d’un dandy coquet. Sa précédente propriétaire, visiblement profane, n’avait pas plus identifié la toile monogrammée bleue dont il est revêtu que le marquage à chaud de sa doublure intérieure en cuir bleu ciel. Après m’être assuré de son authenticité auprès de mon amie Joséphine de Parisot, créatrice de La Mode Timbrée, je le négociais ainsi sans trop d’efforts pour la modique somme de vingt-cinq euros. Nul doute qu’il trônera en bonne place dans ma nouvelle salle de bain, élément de décoration plus que malle à potions. J’adore.

J’avais trouvé quelque chose de spécial à cette veste Yves Saint-Laurent de la collection croisière 2009 lorsque je l’ai vue pour la première fois. Mais c’est seulement hier que j’ai réalisé pourquoi : Will.i.am des Black Eyed Peas l’arborait tout le long du clip « I gotta feeling » et la porte régulièrement depuis !

As luck would have it I found these nice camel leather pants at an H&M store, overcrowded because the sales have started in Paris. They came out just before the Trussardi show – the only thing that makes the wait bearable. Fitting in progress!

Vous trépignez d’impatience à l’idée de devoir encore attendre des mois pour pouvoir arborer le look Trussardi 1911 qui trône en première place de mon « top five » milanais ? Moi aussi !
Le hasard faisant parfois bien les choses, j’ai découvert ce très beau pantalon en cuir de couleur camel, au détour d’une allée H&M noire de monde en raison des soldes. Et ce, quelques jours à peine avant le défilé Trussardi… L’attente n’en sera que plus supportable. Essayage en cours !
