You can’t miss it. There is not a single magazine that hasn’t featured Prada’s 2012 spring-summer collection. Retro prints, disco studs, something for all tastes. While my dear Brieuc adores his new golf shoes and Pelayo Diaz stays in his pyjamas all day, I follow the lead of a number of editorials on this very sough-after sky blue and beige jacket from the show. On this same studs trend, I have already been rejected by the Burberry jacket which I had already fallen in love with. I’ll resist feeding my hope of ever seeing the fruit of my new Pradaddiction again, other than on glossy magazine paper.

 
Vous n’avez pas pu la manquer. Pas un magazine qui ne mette à l’honneur la collection printemps-été 2012 de la maison Prada. Imprimés vintage, picots discos, il y en a presque pour tous les goûts. Alors que mon cher Brieuc adore ses nouvelles chaussures de golf et que Pelayo Diaz ne quitte plus son pijama, j’ai jeté mon dévolu à l’instar de nombre d’éditorialistes sur la très courue veste ciel et beige du défilé. Dans cette même piquante idée de picots, déjà éconduit par la veste Burberry à laquelle j’avais pourtant crié mon amour, je ne nourris guère d’espoir quant à l’idée de revoir un jour le fruit de ma nouvelle pradaddiction ailleurs que sur papier glacé.

These past two weeks of election campaigning regrettably forced my priorities away from the blog. I was unwilling to allow my readers to be politically influenced, especially considering the colour of this blog. For once, it was not all about the clothes.

Now that the election has come to a close and I can once again dedicate my time to my readers instead of voters, I will make use of the two colours historically in majority in the Assemblee Nationale one of my next editorials. In the meantime, summer is coming and you should take advantage of my selection in my state of grace and continue to surf on the ‘vague rose’.

 
Ces deux semaines de campagne éléctorale m’ont conduit à un silence que vous furent nombreux à déplorer. C’est que, prosélyte du bleu, j’aurais pu vous influencer dangereusement. Je m’y suis tout naturellement refusé, d’autant qu’il s’agissait là de choix non vestimentaires et en cela assez secondaires.

L’heure étant désormais à la réconciliation des électeurs comme de mes lecteurs, j’associerai dans l’un de mes prochains éditoriaux les deux couleurs historiquement majoritaires dans l’hémicycle. D’ici là et l’été approchant, profitez de ma selection comme de l’état de grâce auquel je consens pour surfer sur la vague rose !

It is never too late to do the right thing! For proof, consult the very beautiful present I received a few days after the celebration of my birthday — an honorable face you were recently able to discover. Case in point: an alligator skin card holder, azure, from the latest spring-summer collection of Gucci.

There is no denying my friends know me very well: perfumes, diamonds… a precious hide, from a friend who is equally as precious.

 
Retardataires, il n’est jamais trop tard pour bien faire. Preuve en est ce très beau cadeau reçu quelques jours après la célébration de mon anniversaire dont vous avez récemment pu découvrir la face honorable. En l’espèce, un porte-carte en alligator couleur azur, issu de la dernière collection printemps-été de la maison Gucci.

Il n’y a pas à dire, mes amis savent y faire : parfums, diamants… Peau précieuse cette fois, d’un ami qui l’est tout autant.

My taste for matching has not faded, as my wish list, inclusive of many diamond-encrusted gifts is now available to anyone interested in getting a head start for my next birthday.
